Farm 4 Africa Training & development is an independent service provider partnering with USA Farm Labor LLC in the US. They assist with orientation, screening, verification, and training of applicants via various options.

Documents to take with on the flight

The following suggested list of documents is a good guideline of what to carry with you:

  • Name and contact details of your employer (the ETA790, Approval Notice and Summary of Terms of Employment (STOE – a summary of your employment offer) will be sent to you when your visa has been approved).
  • CVPlacements contact information for if you are in trouble or need to reach us in an emergency
  • E-ticket
  • Copy of your travel insurance
  • Passport (keep copies of your visa and passport and make sure CVPlacements have copies as well)
  • Birth Certificate (you need this when applying for your social security number)

 

Also keep copies on your cell phone AND ensure that someone back home in SA has access to these documents too.

Once in the USA

  • Download your I-94 Travel History (information on how to do it will be sent to you via email on your departure date).
  • Review and sign your contract with your employer.
  • Apply for a Social Security number.
  • Open a bank account.
  • Apply for a driver’s licence. 
  • Email USFL to get your welcome pack and free hat.
  • Inform loved ones and CVPlacements of your safe arrival, please!
